I hadn’t seen any takes on what Spider-Society was like during Spider-man: No Way Home (2021), so I thought about it too hard.

I.e. I pulled up a clip of No Way Home to see what the Peter-abduction spell would look like from Miguel’s POV, then realized he'd have no idea what he's looking at and would probably mistake it for something else.

actually the worst thing the mcu has done is that it gave us the absolute nothing burger that is mcu spiderman. like you watch the movies and like who is that???? who is that boy pretending to be peter parker? literally nothing about mcu spidey is recognizable as spiderman. everything about mcu spidey is watered down or otherwise taken away for some wack ass mentoer/mentee relationship with tony stark of all people. and the worst part about this is that it has proliferated into the public so thoroughly that you cannot read a single fanfic about peter parker without half a billion mentions of "irondad" and "spiderson". who is this man that you have all collectively hallucinated to be spiderman???

SHUT UP everyone SHUT UP. I just realized Venom is gonna be the first trilogy ever where I'll have watched every film in theaters during the original release. The first time EVER for me???

6 years. I was just finishing middle school and now I'm half way through college. And the whole time ive had the same interest in the world's most fuckable alien. There is not a single other thing that I have consistenty remained interested in in the past 6 years. And I get to watch 3/3 in theaters. How wonderful. How marvelous. Am I the only one tired of this fandom revolving around Percy so much? I like him, but you guys act like literally no one else matters

The other characters suffer from it. And I get that he kinda gets the most development, but I don't really see people lobbying for Carter to get more books so he can shine, like you guys genuinely don't care about these characters outside of Percabeth and maybe Nico, and it annoys me.

I'm so sick of hearing how Percy is the strongest, or the most well-adjusted, or I kid you not, I've seen people say Percabeth is the most functional couple in YA fiction. Like, that's kinda conceited, don't you think?

I was kinda brought up on these books differently? I started with the Kane Chronicles, so I wasn't here when the books released, so to me Percy never was first and most important, just one of the many characters.

Tony isn't an idiot. Strange told him that he saw only one future where they win. And if he reveals it then it wont happen. And he tells him so much that he wont save his life. NOt if it means saving the stone. And then he sacrifices the stone. For Tony. Tony knows. He knows and he fucking knows and he hates it and he knows. And he lives, for five long years he lives and he watches Peter dust and waits to go himself but he doesn't  and he knows. He denies the time travel idea not because its scary and hard and “not possible” tony stark laughs at the impossible, his name backwards is Y not? He dabbles in the multiverse when hes bored. He says no because he wants more time he doesn't want to fulfill the future, not yet, not when morgan is so young and hes barely had any time with Pepper. BUt he cant. He cant not because Peter needs him and Steve needs him and the world needs him and Tony is anything but selfish. So he does. And he knows.

I think it's funny how Riri writes about Xavier in her diary (or how Iron-Man remarks how Xavier took "notice" of her before Iron-dading, vetting him out like he's a potential match for her or something — seriously what was that Tony?), and we just kind of gloss over that.

Matter of fact, their relationship is extremely cute. It reached the point that I thought Xavier was being set up as her love interest or kind of ship-teased several times. And honestly? After debating with myself (aka me gaslighting myself saying how characters can just be friends) and friends who are fellow comic readers (some who knocked on my skull with the obvious point that there is clearly something that was being brewed between them at times), I'd argue, he is. There have been a few too many scenes that suggested a budding foundation.

I wouldn't be surprised if they continue or maybe even double down and advance whatever this is in MCU's Ironheart. A character named Xavier will be in it, and in Black Panther Wakanda Forever's script, Natalie (Riri's other best, closest, and first friend) was also named dropped. Although, his surname isn't King. Curiously, it's apparently Washington, like Natalie's. I wonder why?

Anyway, Xavier and him with her in general aren't talked about, even though he is a core support she absolutely needed in her Iron-Heart Volume 1 series. He is her other best friend and ride-or-die (even when they disagreed, he was always right there in her corner. He knew what she needed or meant without her having to speak it with her emotionally constipated self, lol). A crying shame.

I could maybe write a piece on their relationship because I'm breaking my silence. It's so vital to Riri's character development and beautiful. It ticks all the boxes. He was so funny in the Wakanda part of the volume, too, on face call talking about their food. Xavier please 😭.

thinking about how if all of Loki and Natasha's conversation in Avengers 1 was projection instead of just most of it it implies so much about what was used against him by Thanos.

Yes, the idea of sending someone with a way out "as a balm" after trying torture to make him cooperate.

"I'd say I've expanded his mind" as if Loki asked what the scepter did, what it was doing.

"Is this love, Agent Romanoff?" when she wants to know if Clint will be intact after it's over, a refusal to answer when Thor may wonder the same of him and not like the answer.

"And what will you do if I vow to spare him?" we already know Thanos would use Thor's life against Loki. We already know Loki's bargain included sparing Midgard from Thanos, but not Asgard.

LOKI: Your world in the balance, and you bargain for one man? NATASHA: Regimes fall every day. I tend not to weep over that LOKI: What is it you want?

Could Loki have faced a choice for Asgard and chosen only Thor? A direct parallel, including however Loki does/doesn't identify as Asgardian, and his mindset in conquering. He's not got conviction and she mirrors that nonchalance here.

Loki asking "Can you? Can you wipe out that much red?" and listing her crimes is another line usually understood as projection. Loki has his list too, and doesn't think great of it. "Your ledger is dripping, it's gushing red, and you think saving a man no more virtuous than yourself will change anything? This is the basest sentimentality. This is a child at prayer. Pathetic!"

"You lie and kill in the service of liars and killers." is a pretty apt description of Asgard. But could it describe Sanctuary too? What did Loki have to do to prove his loyalty to Thanos before being judged worthy of the scepter, of a bargain at all, and to retrieve a whole infinity stone for him at the cost of one?

This is generally understood as blanket guilt/regret but he says it so angrily it's often dismissed in favour of just snitching on HYDRA within SHIELD. Assuming Thor is the one Loki would bargain to save, is this a threat that has been made to Loki before? Is it what Loki knows would come of a successful bargain with Thanos? Being hurt by Thor is what he's feared before, but does it hold true even after the events of Thor 1? The idea of Thor being used against Loki being an intimate way to kill, while also acknowledging that Thor might not want to do it and might realize what he's done and hate it?
